Sherry Cicerone

d. June 28, 2012

Services for Sharon Cicerone-Wempe (64) will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, St. Paul?s Episcopal Church on Southfield Road. Sherry was born in Leesville, Louisiana, grew up in Shreveport, attended Bossier High School as well as C.E. Byrd High School and Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. By virtue of growing up in an Air Force family, Sherry had the opportunity to experience many places throughout America and abroad. As the majority of her adult years were spent in California, she claimed the Golden State her home. Her greatest passions were animals, animal rescue and LSU/Clemson sports. She gave generously of her time to local animal shelters and was a devoted small breed animal rescuer. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Ralph Edward Wempe of Bossier City, her daughter, Toni Delaine Heffner of Ayden, NC, son, Gregory Mark Berry of Redlands CA, granddaughter, Reily ?Pippa? Heffner, her mother Katrena D. Cicerone of Shreveport, brother, David H. Cicerone of Huntington Beach, CA, sisters, Mamie Dixon of Greenville, NC and Patricia Johnson of Charlotte, NC and her five beloved dogs: Daisy, Kibbie, Puggy-Sue, Topo, and Patty-Cake. The family would like to thank Dr. ?Bob? Massingale and the rest of the Schumpert Cancer Center team for their devoted care and support over the last two years. They would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Molly and Kate Wempe for their loving care of Sherry and the family in her final days. Memorials may be made to your local humane society as well as Wounded Worriers. Sherry will be running the doggie shelter in heaven.
