Conrad Joseph Massey Jr., 67, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 14, 1949 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to parents Conrad Joseph Massey, Sr. and Amelia Massey. He graduated from West High School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1965. He later served in the United States Air Force and proudly served 23 years. While in the service he lived in Hawaii and Australia. He then furthered his career at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in 1987 and retired in 2006.
He became lifetime partners with Ray Miley in 1982. They settled in Blanchard, LA and were together for 35 years. They have three dogs: Scruffy, Miranda and Sugar, which he dearly loved.
He is survived by his loving partner Ray Miley; Aunt Nelly Lusby; sister in laws Dianne Miley (Kelly) and Donna Herminghuysen; brother in law Donald Miley (Judy); nephews Matthew Herminghuysen and Donnie Miley (Michelle); niece Patricia Coffman (Chester); McInturf family and a host of great nieces and nephews; special friends Jimmie Franklin, Big Boy and Sheila Robinson Aaron and many other friends.
As was a loving, caring, philanthropist that would help anyone in need. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. As a Veteran he loved helping other veterans. Even after retirement you would always see Conrad and Ray at the VA. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends and will be missed greatly by all.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111. Services will be officiated by Preacher Chester Coffman of Christian Corner in Mooringsport, LA.
