Pater W. Kommes

Shreveport, LA - Peter William Kommes passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Visitation will be held for Pete 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier. Pete was born in Houghton, Michigan on November 9, 1955. He was the son of Alfred and Gertrude (DeForge) Kommes, and was a proud Veteran of USAF. He lived the last 17 years in Shreveport and was employed with Thrifty Liquor. On October 23, 2014, he was united in marriage to his long-time partner of 17 years Ranny Gunn. Pete enjoyed camping, canoeing, rock climbing, and loved watching football. His favorite team was Denver Broncos. Preceding Pete in death were his parents, Alfred (Lorna) Kommes and Gertrude (Ray) Durocher; brother, Ron Kommes; brother-in-law, Joe Karry; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his spouse, Ranny (Kommes) Gunn of Shreveport; siblings Donna (Kim) Maki, Doreen (Jerry) Swetich, Alfred (Janie) Kommes, Norman (Jodi) Kommes; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all from Upper Michigan.
