Shreveport, LA – Roderick Jerome Gaut was born June 11, 1979 in Bossier City and gained his Angel’s Wings on July 20, 2019. A Celebration of Life service for Roderick will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Word of God Ministries in Shreveport. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM to service time. Officiating will be Pastor Don Taylor of Stoner Hill Baptist Church.
Roderick lived his entire life in the Shreveport/Bossier City area surrounded by his family. As a child, he learned the true meaning of family and belonging. A 1997 graduate of Huntington High School, he proudly joined the US Navy to serve his country. After his tour, he came back to the area he loved and began different careers trying to find his niche. He was employed with Frymaster for 15 years. Known as a hard worker, everyone knew his passion was sports. To encourage younger kids and youth, he started the non-profit organization Positive Lessons All Children Embrace. This organization allowed children to participate in sports, when they otherwise would not been able to participate.
Roderick leaves behind many memories with his wife, Christana Gaut; children, Roderick “RJ”, Jaden, and Journee; parents, Gwendolyn and Donald Gaut; brother, Dr. Marcus M. Gaut and wife Kimberly; niece, Alexis "Lexi Pooh"; nephews, Marcus "DoBug"; Brayden "Bray Bray"; great-nephew, Denim; special life-long friend and brother, Tracy Weaver; god-daughters, Kailynn and Brooke; many other friends and family members.
Roderick left us too soon. His memory and legacy will continue to live through everyone who had the honor and privilege of knowing him.
