For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Paul Drexal Albert was born June 17, 1966, in New Roads, Louisiana, to Gilbert Albert and Susie Martin Albert. His life was that of a giving, gentle, husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He touched the hearts of all who were blessed to have known him. Paul attended Baker High School in Baker, Louisiana. He briefly continued his education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Wanting to do something different, and travel the world, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Information Management Specialist from 1985 to 1992. He faithfully served his country during the Gulf War Conflict, and received numerous awards and decorations for his commitment and dedication. He, more recently, continued his outstanding Civil Service to his country as a Logistics Manager for Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Paul?s life would seem too short, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. On June 26, 1992, he married the love of his life, the former April R. Washington. Unto this union, three children were born.
On Thursday, November 22, 2012, at 12:49 p.m., messengers of God came down to guide Paul and deliver him safely to his Heavenly Father. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, April R. Albert; two sons: Khristian X. Albert and Marcus A. Albert of Bossier City, LA. Mother; Susie Albert, of Baton Rouge, LA. Three sisters: Robbin (Richard) Lollis, of Baker LA; Yvonne (Aaron) Butler, and Vanceia Albert, of Baton Rouge, LA. Five brothers: Kevin (Sandy) Albert, James Albert, John (Karen) Albert, and Daryl Albert, of Baton Rouge, LA; Michael (Sharon) Albert, of Mascoutah, IL. Mother and Father-In Law: Billy and Ann Washington, of Wichita, Kansas. Sister-In-Law: Marsha Williams, of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and many loving Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Gilbert Albert and son Kristopher J. Albert.
