Joseph Raymond Patterson, 36, of Shreveport, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2017. He was born in Las Vegas, NV as one of three sons of Ray and Jodi Patterson. Joe played football at Ft. Walton Beach High School and went on to earn a degree in Computer Engineering.
He married his wife Amy in 2005 at a small chapel in Fort Walton Beach, Florida where he also became a stepfather to her son Logan.
Joe was employed by Gannett as the Regional Consumer Marketing Manager with a list of accomplishments too long to list.
Joe dedicated a large portion of his life to the Brotherhood of Freemasonry. He was a Past Master of Cedar Grove Lodge #403 in Shreveport. He currently served as the Grand Prelate (Chaplain) of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Louisiana. He was a Past High Priest of the Southern Hills Chapter #103 Royal Arch in Shreveport, and also of Giblim Chapter #99 Royal Arch in Bossier City. Joe was serving as the Illustrious Master of Ish Sodi Council of Royal & Select Masters, and was a Past Commander of Crusader Commandery #21, Knights Templar in Bossier City. He was currently serving the Shreveport York Rite Bodies as their Secretary/Recorder, and also served the NW LA Temple Guards as their Recorder. Joe was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Member, and served the Shreveport Valley of the Knights of St. Andrew as Commander.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother Billie Jo Patterson. He is survived by his wife Amy, stepson Logan, father Ray and brothers Daniel and Timothy. He is also survived by his in-laws, Betheia and Kenny Morris and Amanda Bullock. Joe also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Joe was an entertainer, wordsmith, understanding, smart and most of all had an extremely large heart for others. He was a wonderful Christian man that loved and served the Lord. He was an amazing husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Services celebrating the life of Joe will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home, 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Family visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Interment will be in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana.
