Mildred Attaway

Funeral services for Mildred Attaway will be 10:00 AM, Friday, October 30, 2009, at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care in Shreveport. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Daniel Attaway, grandson of Mildred Attaway. The family will receive friends at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care on Thursday, October 29, 2009 between 7:00 and 9:00 PM. Mildred, 83, went to Heaven on October 23, 2009 following a lengthy illness. She spent many years teaching four and five year olds in Sunday School at Ford Park Baptist Church, where she was a long time member. It was important to Mildred to share her deep faith in Jesus Christ with her grandchildren and other children as well. When she was not spending time with her grandchildren, she liked to sew and take pictures of her growing family. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Merle. She is survived by sons, Thomas Attaway and wife Lue, and Bob Attaway and wife Sheila; four grandchildren; Stacey Stuard and husband Daniel, Jennifer Hennigan and husband Sean, Daniel Attaway and wife Emily, and Lisa Attaway; one great-grandchild, Raegan Stuard; and brother, Tilford Lee. Pallbearers will be Sean Hennigan, Daniel Stuard, Mike Campbell, Henry Bynog, Rodney Stevens, and Kevin Brocato. The family would like to thank her friend Cathy Smith, Landmark of Shreveport, and Mary Jane Juneau and Chaplain Paul Joslyn of Life Path Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Giddeons International, through Jim Cowdin at 925-8996.
