Robert Leroy Farrar passed away May 20, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Fairie Powell Farrar and three sons, Robert Wayne Farrar, Bruce Steven Farrar, and Brian Alan Farrar.
He was born at Shumpert Hospital, Shreveport, Louisiana on November 2, 1936.
He was a good-natured man who loved accomplishing and improving things in which he was interested. Some of these accomplishments include being a Christian, an Eagle Scout, and a degree in Business Administration from Northwestern State University.
He lettered four years in track as a pole vaulter where he tied a conference record at that time. He passed the CPA test and earned thirty-two years service with the Federal Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1998. He was a Large Case Coordinator and National Group Manager Instructor. He then became a rancher raising cows on the family farm for ten years, improving the land and enjoying the deer and wild turkeys.
He descended from parents, Dewey L. Farrar, deceased, Virginia Farrar, deceased, brothers, Dewey Farrar Jr., deceased, Charles Farrar, Colorado Springs, CO and Gerald W. Farrar, Crockett, TX.
His grandsons are Winston Farrar, deceased, and Travis Farrar, son of Robert Wayne Farrar, Dallas, TX. Sons of Brian Alan Farrar are Dustin Farrar and Hunter Farrar, Bossier Parish. Great grandsons are Bradley Farrar and Beau Farrar of Bossier Parish.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Cypress Baptist Church, Lagniappe Hall by Senior Pastor Tommy Patton at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022, Benton, LA.
