Deborah Kay Little

d. April 18, 2022

Deborah Kay Little, whom everyone knows as Debbi, of Benton, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022, after bravely battling an illness. Debbi was born in Santa Barbara, California, to Jerome and Kazuko Kendrick, who both preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by (Larry) Jason Little, to whom she was married to for over 10 years, faithfully supporting while he was on active duty in the Air Force and into his retirement. She is survived by her daughter Miranda (Little), son-in-law Carden Russell, and their son Kline, who was the light of Debbi’s life. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob and Jerry Shelden, both of Santa Barbara, California, and Anthony Curtis, who Debbi recently became engaged to when they enjoyed their recent trip to Walt Disney World. Debbi had been working for the Air Force as a Department of Defense civilian employee. Her last place of employment was at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, where she was an investigator for the Inspector General’s office. Before Debbi and Jason moved to Louisiana, she worked in the Emergency Management office at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Debbi was a very private, loving, and caring person. If you were lucky enough to have her let you into her life, you would have her love and support, always. Her love was genuine and not out of obligation. Doing for others always made her happy and her smile could light up a room. Debbi loved to travel and especially enjoyed her time overseas living in Germany. She delighted in taking bus trips to other countries, learning about their history, and viewing all the beauty of those nations. She was an avid crocheter and if you were fortunate enough to benefit from one of her handmade items, you should know that each one was made with her love. She was someone that provided those crocheted items for you to remember that she cared and loved having you in her life. We have lost a magnificent soul and we are all so grateful to have had her in our life. There will not be another one like Debbi. In lieu of flowers, we would like to ask that you consider sending a donation to the American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org/) in Debbi’s honor and memory.
