Michael Wade Atwood, 63, of the Midyett Community in Panola County, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at his home in Midyett.
A Celebration of Life Service for Michael will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Deadwood United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 till service time.
Michael Wade Atwood was born on April 6, 1958, in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Marion Allen “Tex” and Helen Marie Litton Atwood. He moved to Panola County in 1962, from Shreveport and he graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1976.
Michael was married to Debbie Faye Breedlove on May 17, 2015, at the Deadwood Methodist Church by Reverend Mervin Scott. He loved shooting pool, dancing and spending quality time with his family and friends. Michael worked for Panola County Road and Bridge for 20 years. Mike was raised to a Master Mason on April 20, 2002 of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM Lodge 521 of Carthage, Texas. He was two months shy of his 20th Mason anniversary. He also was involved with the Shriners. He was a former member of Deadwood Methodist Church but now is currently a member of Liberty Chapel Baptist Church.
Preceding Michael in death are his parents and brother, Randy Atwood of Midyett. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Atwood of Midyett; daughter, Amie Beall and husband Tim of White Oak, Texas; brother, Hal Moses and life partner Ricky Burleson of Canton, Texas; sons, Tommy Breedlove and wife Christi of Benton, Louisiana; Michael Breedlove of Midyett; sister-in-law, Marie Atwood of Midyett; grandchildren, Kylie Rae Beall, Lauren Paige Breedlove, and Alex Singletary; best friend, Lynn Stanley; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of relatives and friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Hearts Way Hospice of Carthage or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
