Hanne-Lore Stern, 88, of Bossier City, LA passed away on February 3, 2022 (one day shy of 89) in Bossier City, LA.
Hanne-Lore was born in Germany on February 4, 1933. She obtained a college degree in education where her first career was as a teacher. Hanne-Lore was a dedicated volunteer at the local youth center, where she met her soulmate, Harry. They got married February 12, 1955, and she became a U.S. citizen in March 1956. She served as an Air Force wife for 30 years. Hanne-Lore’s final career was working as an instructor at the Northwest State School from 1976 until her retirement in 1993, where she met who would become her best friend, Mrs. Mary. After retirement, she spent her time volunteering for various organizations, loving on her rescued puppies and spending time with her grandchildren.
Hanne-Lore is survived by her husband (of 67 years) Harry Stern of Bossier City, daughter Heide-Marie Anderson, grandchildren Erika K. Anderson and Justin R. Anderson (wife Vanessa), great grandchildren Kameron and McKinsley Anderson all of Benton and her sister Erika Manhold of Bremerhaven, Germany.
She is preceded in death by her son, 2nd Lt. Wilhelm R. Stern.
There will be a private service at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
