Laura Virginia Lane

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service for Laura Virginia Lane at 2:00 PM, May 28, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home. Laura passed peacefully in her sleep May 20, 2021 in Bossier City, LA. She was 61 years young. Laura was born on June 21, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas to Vernard and Grace Whiddon. Laura lived a full life and most of all she loved her family. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her daughters and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She was above all passionate and proud of her six grandchildren. She had a wonderful personality and always made people around her smile. She made friends everywhere she went and her students and the bus staff at Bossier Parish Schools loved her as well. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. We will miss her every day. She is the loving and devoted mother of Crystal England and husband Christopher, Sarah Cockrell and fiancée Jeanne, Erin Ward and husband Kevin. Adored Nana of McKenzie Cockrell, Ethan Ward, Korbin Ward, Gracie England, Faith England, and Kaleb England. Dear sister of Guy Whiddon and wife Darla. Predeceased by her sister Susan Whiddon, and her two brothers, Craig Whiddon and Freddy Whiddon. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends. Laura was most comfortable in her casual attire and she loved the color blue. Please honor her by wearing your “Blue Comfortable Casual” if you choose on this day.
