Logan Kyle Meier

d. February 16, 2021

It is with the deepest sorrow that the Meier Family announce the passing of their son and brother Logan Kyle Meier. Logan passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving parents on February 16, 2021, after a near yearlong battle with Epithelioid Sarcoma. Logan was born on April 18, 2018, to parents David and Lauren Meier, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Logan loved life and playing with his big brother, Marshall. He always played wherever he was. Keeping him in a hospital bed was nearly impossible. He loved his marble run game, trains, firetrucks, tractor rides, balls, playing outside at the park, and watching his favorite cartoons, Team Umizoomi and Paw Patrol. Logan spent the better part of his final year battling cancer with his friends, family and the oncology team at Saint Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Logan underwent 6 rounds of chemotherapy, over 100 rounds of radiation, and 3 rounds of immunotherapy along with countless tests, scans, transfusions, and hospitalizations. Logan faced cancer with a resilience and fortitude that inspired all who knew him and his story. Logan is survived by his parents, David and Lauren; brother Marshall; grandparents, Calvin and Lynne Meier, Lane and Debi Johnson; great grandparents, Edna Cervantes, Kenneth and Becky Johnson; and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, located at 500 Common Street in Shreveport, at 10:30 am on March 4th. The family will be wearing red to the Celebration of Life and invites guests to join in wearing Logan's favorite color in his honor. In lieu of flowers, Logan’s family asks that donations be made in Logan’s name to Saint Jude Research Hospital via the following link… Please copy and paste the URL into your internet browser. https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds/GiftFunds?px=5699801&pg=personal&fr_id=39300
