Bossier City, LA- A memorial service for Jack R. Holland SSgt, age 74 will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Boone Funeral Home Chapel in Bossier City, LA. Maj. Carl Barr, Chaplain for the American Legion will be officiating.
Mr. Holland passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born January 14, 1934 in Tishomingo, OK.
Mr. Holland served his country during the Korean Conflict. After 20 years, he retired from the military, and then went on to work for the Shreveport Police Dept. for 18 years. Mr. Holland was a true outdoorsman, he loved to camp and was an avid fisherman. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Cleo Holland, and sister Wanda Holland. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Linda, three sons; Michael R. Holland of Lawton, OK, Mark Holland of Oklahoma City, OK, Kevin R. Holland of Bossier City, LA, three daughters; Connie Shivers of Tallahassee, FL, Linda Baymore of Oklahoma City, OK, Sandy Johnson of Bossier City, LA, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brother; Dennis Holland of Lawton, OK, two sisters; Darlene Jones of Lawton, OK, Maurina Leger of Fairfiew, TX, a host of nieces and nephews, as well as his two best friends; James H. Thomisee and Leonard Ross.
