Mary Heard Benton

Bossier City - Mary Heard Benton passed away peacefully on September 18, 2016 surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends and other family members between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, September 20, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home - Bossier. A private burial will be held at a later date. Mary was a strong person that knew what she wanted and usually got it. Most important to her were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived to spoil them with hand - made items. Her passion was knitting, sewing, stitching and anything crafty. Mary leaves behind brother, Ray Heard of Plain Dealing; sons, Lee Beck and John David Beck; grandchildren, Joe and Jake Beck, Nathan Hammons and wife Lilly, Wil Beck and wife Connie; great-grandchildren, Emery and Michael Hammons, Jadyn, Jace and Jacee Beck, and Jonathan and Jordan Blake. Preceded in death by husband, Cliff Benton; and daughter, Mary Beck Hammons; sisters, Virginia, Ollie, and Bonnie. Mary loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. Thanksgiving will never be the same.
