Mary Whittington

Shreveport, LA - Mary T. Whittington, born April 20, 1937, passed away peacefully October 2, 2014. Mary was born in Downsville and came to Shreveport to work in the General Motors Plant, where she retired. After her retirement, her passion was her family, working with her plants, and spending time with her dogs. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Davis Edward "Tuck" Taylor, James Taylor, and Loy H. "Red" Taylor. She is survived by husband, Stu Whittington; daughter, Beth Long and husband Larry; son, Tom Canterbury and wife Linette; grandchildren, Nicholas and William Long, Heather Bailey and husband Ashley, and Karen Canterbury; great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emmalyn Bailey; and sisters, Esther Griffin, Joye Byrd and Bertha Nell Owens. It was Mary's wish to be cremated with no services. Mary will truly be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
