Bruce G. Johnson, age 58 of Bossier City, La. passed away peacefully in his home on July 21, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. One might say that Bruce was a modern day miracle having lived as a quadriplegic for 43 years. He suffered from injuries sustain playing football in 1973.
Bruce was a life-long resident of Bossier City. He was born June 6, 1958, in Shreveport and baptized at St. George's Episcopal Church in Bossier. With the aid of his long- time caretaker and friend Gina Jones, Bruce was quite the computer whiz & web designer in spite of his injury. At one time he owned and operated a school to train certified nursing assistants. Bruce loved music, family, friends, extended family and he especially enjoyed the presence of children. He lived independently and managed his own care.
Bruce is survived by his twin brother Brent B. Johnson and wife Linda R. Johnson, of Rowlett, TX and their daughters Kristen & Ashley; his father Joseph Johnson; his uncle Roy Johnson, wife Edith, and their daughters Joy and JoAnn; cousin Jann Pittman and her daughter Julie Gallagher plus other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother Adaz Johnson, aunt Matilda Broussard; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Broussard and Mr. & Mrs. George Johnson.
Funeral service will be held at 10am, on Wednesday, July 27th at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive in Bossier City. Private interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall, TX.
