Shreveport-Rosemary Colligan Myrick ("Granny") was born in Tallulah, Louisiana to Carrie and V. J. Colligan on January 16, 1927. Rose went to be with our Lord on December 6, 2015.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home located at 3903 Meriwether Road in Shreveport. The celebration of her life will be 10:00 AM at Kingston Road Baptist Church, located at 8900 Kingston Road in Shreveport. The burial will be 12:00 noon following the service at Northwest Veterans Cemetery located at 7970 Mike Clark Road in Keithville.
Rose graduated from Ouachita Parish School in Monroe. After graduation she started to work for Gulf Oil and was transferred to the Pentagon in Washington, DC. After several years in Washington DC, she was transferred back to Shreveport where she met the love of her life, Lawson Myrick, who was a barber in the Marines and opened his own barber shop. After a short courtship, they were married on October 9, 1955 and lived in Shreveport their entire marriage.
Rosie worked as a financial secretary for Ingleside Baptist Church for many years. After her retirement, she found out that she was going to a grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her five siblings and a niece.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 60 years, Lawson, her daughter, Janet, her son Lane (Georgiana), her granddaughter, Jennifer Myrick Henderson (Chris), and her two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Luke.
The family would like to thank all of Rosie's sitters for their great care and love given to her. The family would also like to thank all of the staff at Hill Cross Hospice for the love, care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingston Road Baptist Church or St. Jude's.
