Joe McDowell

Shreveport—Mr. Joe G. McDowell, age 85, of Doyline, passed from this life on Sunday, April 13 in Shreveport. His wife, Maxine McDowell, precedes Mr. McDowell in death. His children, Jim McDowell, Molly McDowell Gray, and Jake McDowell; grandchildren, Bonnie Arbuckle and Richard Gray, III; and numerous great-grandchildren survive him. Mr. McDowell was a WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps in which he was trained as an Aircraft Mechanic. His training led to a career with Lockheed and locally at Curry Sanders Aircraft Company. He was an avid gardener and dog lover. "A good name is better to be had than great riches…"
