Johnny Cogley

Mooringsport—Funeral Services for Mr. Johnny M. Cogley will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 10:00am at Mooringsport United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Mooringsport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Boone Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Mr. Cogley, 78, passed away suddenly Wednesday at his home. Retired from the U.S. Army, Mr. Cogley continued loving and serving his country after his service in Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post #5951. An avid football fan, he and his friend Roy Layton, attended many LSU games together during their lifelong friendship. Surviving Mr. Cogley are his brother, Warren "Gene" Cogley and wife Eunice of Mooringsport; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and dear friends. Pallbearers will be: Dale Nix, Sr., Harry Cogley, Bubba Cogley, Curtis Hicks, John Ridge, and Dan Kirklin. Larry Little and Roy Layton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
