Betty Jane Brickey

Bossier City, LA - Betty, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on October 9, 2014. She went to her next life surrounded by her family. Born in Ashville, OH to Gladys and Amos Wheeler, Betty moved to Bossier City to be with her son and daughter-in-law. As the sole provider for her family she worked three jobs to make sure everyone had what they needed. In her spare time, she loved to cook for large groups and was best known for her fried chicken and potato soup. On weekends to relax she loved to bowl, teach ceramics in her home, and play cards. Betty is survived by daughters, Kimberly Rosshirt, Michelle Kilgore and husband Kevin; sons, Barney Sheets and Mark Sheets and wife Stacie; grandchildren, Nichole Hood, Cara Zimmerman, Brittany Simmons, Chad Sheets, Woody Kilgore, Dana and Michael Rosshirt; 13 great-grandchildren and one soon to be born; sister, Mary Hemperly; and many friends. It was Betty's wish to be cremated and her ashes buried in her home state of Ohio. Betty truly loved her family, and friends that became a large part of her life in Bossier City. She will be greatly missed.
