Alice Louise Crabtree Tucker was born in Shreveport, Louisiana in February 1928 to Quinnie Cassandra Bossier Crabtree and Willie Walter Crabtree. She was raised on their farm which was part of the original Pierre Bossier homestead. Upon graduation from Sarepta High School, she moved to Shreveport to attend business school.
While in Shreveport, Alice met Sam Tucker who was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. They married and lived together for over 50 years. As his work took him many places, Alice accompanied him and worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and genealogy research. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Bossier.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:00pm at Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Rainey officiating. Interment will follow at Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tucker is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. She is survived by her children: daughter, Carolyn Tucker Grimsley and husband Cliff Grimsley, Jr. of Bossier City; son, Harold Tucker and wife Sue Tucker of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Cassandra Grimsley Keating and husband Owen Keating of New York City, Craig Grimsley and wife Jessica Grimsley of Bossier City, Sarah Tucker of Iowa and Grace Tucker of South Carolina.
