Mary Lois Shepherd

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mary "Lois" Shepherd, 90, will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Pastor Calvin Hubbard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Lois passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 after a brave fight with cancer. "Lois" or "Ms. Mary" will be remembered as a woman with a kind, caring heart, a strong independent spirit, a desire to put the needs of others before hers, and for the love she put into delicious Christmas cookiers every year. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Lois was deeply rooted in faith and a member of Barksdale Baptist Church in Bossier City. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Elmer "Toby" Shepherd. Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her children, Toya DeBeaux and her husband Buddy DeBeaux, Deborah Shepherd and her husband Bruce Wampler; grandson, Austin DeBeaux and step-grandchildren Laura DeBeaux Weego and Bill DeBeaux; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Charles Hargon, Dr. Rick Michael, Dr. Richard Haynie and so many others too numerous to list who provided such compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or charity of the Donor's choice.
