Bobby Joe Carroll

d. October 17, 2020

Bobby Joe (Bob) Carroll, 76, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was born in Amarillo, Texas on October 2, 1943 to W.J. and Lois Heatherly Carroll. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1961. He went to West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas for a short time. At different times in his life, he was a butcher - an auto bodyman - a salesman - a mechanic - a natural gas producer - a business manager and an owner of several businesses. He rode the ups and downs of the natural gas industry for over 50 years. He played golf, shot quail, flew airplanes, rode motorcycles and fished until he just couldn't anymore. His favorite way to pass the time recently was sitting on his back porch with friends and family while watching his great-grandchildren run around and play.

Roberta "BeeGee" Garre was on her way to a semester at College and he stole her and her heart off the train somewhere near Clarendon, Texas. They eloped on October 26, 1963. From their union they had two sons - Chris and Blaine. He lost BeeGee in May 2013. He was lucky enough to find someone special to love again and married Barbara Luttrell on September 21, 2015. Together, they made each other better.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, BeeGee; his sister Charlotte and husband Gaylean Riddell; his brother Gordie and wife Sudie Carroll; his brother Ricci Carroll; his niece Kristy Riddell and his great-niece Jordan Riddell.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Carroll; his brother Kenneth and wife Carol Carroll; his son Chris and wife Missy; his son Blaine and his wife Tabitha; grandchildren Alex Carroll and wife Caroline, Kathryn Carroll and fiance Dillon Jackson, Clay Carroll, Shelby Carroll, Thomas Carroll; great-grandchildren Emerson Carroll and Gray Carroll, numerious cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special family that took good care of him: Clay and Ginger Luttrell and family, Marti and Wade Strother and family, and Mark and Wendy Luttrell and family.

He requested that there be no funeral service. He asked that his ashes be placed with BeeGee near the Acoma Pueblo in New Mexico.

Please make a donation in his name to some place like Cal Farley's Boys Rance in Amarillo, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital.
