Gerald Allen Whitten

Gerald "Jerry" Allen Whitten, 65, of Bossier City, Louisiana passed away June 29, 2020. A time for family and friends to visit will be 4:00 PM-7:00 PM, July 2, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home.

Jerry was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on March 22, 1955 to Marvin and Blanche Whitten. He graduated from Airline High School. He served four years in the Army and attended LSUS.  He retired from the Louisiana Highway Department after 31 years of dedicated service.  He was also actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous. 

Jerry was married to Katherine Ann Harvey on February 5, 1983; they were married 37 years and had two daughters, Jenny McEntyre and Melonie Hammond. He cherished his granddaughters Allahna, Lena, Jaicee, and Nadine.  He is survived by his mother, Blanche Whitten; brothers, Marvin Jr. and Phillip Whitten; and sister, Linda Ferguson.  Preceding Jerry in death was his father, Marvin Whitten and brother, John Whitten.
