Jordan Allen Ford entered this world in Midland, Texas, January 11, 1984. He went home to be with our Lord in the next world, during the wee hours of the morning on December 2, 2007. He was a joy to be around to all who knew him and his infectious mischievious smile could light up a room when he entered. He was the baby of the family, and as such took great delight in engaging his brothers, Ryan and Cody, in laughter and good natured aggravation.
Jordan
graduated from Airline High School with honors in 2002. He was very
active in sports, beginning at Cope Middle School all the way through
Airline High School. Jordon was voted freshman and Senior Class
Favorite and was also a finalist in the "Mr. Debonair" Pageant two
years running while attending Airline H.S. He was on the basketball
team and the wrestling team, but the love of his heart was football. He
played on the varsity team for 2 years as an offensive lineman and was
a formidable force on the field, making lasting friendships along the
way. The summer before graduation from Airline, Jordan attended Bossier
Parish Community College and was offered an internship in the
Telecommunications Dept. Jordan worked in all aspects of Broadcast
Journalism including editing, camera operation and radio broadcasting.
Jordan was currently enrolled at LSUS pursuing a degree in Broadcast
Journalism. At one time he was employed by KTBS as well as KTAL.
Jordan was
preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James E.
Edwards of Tyler, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. James A. Ford of Beaumont,
Texas. He is survived by his parents, Danny and Theresa Ford, of
Bossier, brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Melissa Reynolds of
Nashville, Tennessee, and his brother and fiancée, Cody Ford and Leah
Ellisor of Shreveport. Jordan will also be missed by numerous aunts,
uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers
will be Ryan and Cody, Jordan's brothers, Da Juan Sewell, T. C. Cooper,
Tyler Campbell, David Gladney and Coach Chris White.
Family
visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2007 between 5:00 and 8:00 pm
at Boone Funeral Home on Airline Drive in Bossier. Services will be
Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Faith Chapel next to First
Baptist Church of Bossier on East Texas Street.
Anyone
wishing to honor Jordan may make a donation in lieu of flowers to The
Overcomer's Training Center for Men through contacting Shreveport
Community Church on Buncumb Road.
Jordan
touched many lives during his brief stay here and saw something
beautiful in everyone he met. His sudden absence from his family and
friends will leave a giantloss that will only be surpassed by the love he left behind.
