Daniel O. Coutant

Shreveport, LA — Daniel O. Coutant, 69, of Shreveport, Louisiana died Friday, March 22, 2019, at his home.

Cremation has been accorded as Dan wished. A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, Louisiana.

Daniel O. Coutant was born September 22, 1949, in Moline, the son of William A. and Mary Wood Coutant. Dan graduated from Aledo High School in 1967. He married Karen Reed on April 29, 1978. She passed away February 19, 2004. 

He was employed as an elevator and escalator repair technician for a number of years. After retirement he was employed at Harrah’s Casino in Shreveport as an electrician and general maintenance technician. He enjoyed spending time with his three grandsons: Matt, Aiden and Trey.

Those surviving are his daughter Amanda Coutant, Shreveport, LA, and grandsons: Matt Coutant Spears, and Aiden and Trey Coutant Swinehart. Other survivors include a brother William A. Coutant, Jr., a niece, Vicki Coutant and nephew Bruce Coutant all of Aledo, IL, special friends Kevin Spears, Randy and Debbie Swinehart. His parents; his wife; and a sister and brother in-law, Mary and Ron Olson, preceded him in death.
