Gary Wayne Sams, Sr.

Gary Wayne Sams Sr. 60, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away Saturday March 7, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

He was born in Waynesville, North Carolina to Elaine Trull and James Riley Sams Sr. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother Jim Sams. Gary Wayne loved to travel and have fun with his wife of 22 years, Christy. Gary Wayne also enjoyed spending time with his treasured fur baby, Thor. He was greeted Saturday at the Rainbow Bridge by his much-loved Loki.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Christy Sams, daughter Regina Carroll and husband Don, son Gary Sams Jr. and wife Jennifer, daughter Nina Horrell and husband Rae, all of North Carolina and son Colin Hurst of Shreveport, Louisiana. Gary Wayne leaves behind six precious grandchildren, Dylan, Raegan, Connor, Hailey, Evan and Ally. He is also survived by one brother Terry Sams of Washington and a sister, Debra Scott of South Carolina.

A memorial service will take place at a later date in his beloved Blue Ridge Mountains surrounded by nature and his loved ones. Details for the memorial service will be announced once the arrangements have been made.
