Freda Joan Tracy

d. April 18, 2015

Bossier City, LA Mrs. Freda J. Tracy entered into rest to join her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2015 after a long illness. She was born in Bridgton, Maine on January 8, 1930 to James and Flora Graffam. Freda received her education from elementary through high school in Bridgton, graduating from Bridgton High School as valedictorian in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, George M. Tracy of Naples, Maine, in January 1949. Since her husband was a career military man, over the years Freda and her family traveled to various U. S. Air Force bases in both the United States and Europe including Bergstrom AFB in Texas; Tinker AFB in Oklahoma; Dow AFB in Maine; Pease AFB in New Hampshire; Wiesbaden AFB in Germany; and Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. One of the highlights of their travels was her husband's four year tour of duty in Germany, where the entire family had the opportunity to visit many of the historic countries in Europe. Freda enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting, macramé, bead braiding, and doll making and made many beautiful creations for her family to cherish always. The main love of her life was providing a caring home for her family with all the love only a devoted wife and mother can give. Freda is survived by her husband of 66 years George M. Tracy; son George M. Tracy, Jr. and wife Ellen of Bossier City; son Ronald J. Tracy of Bossier City; grandchildren George M. Tracy III and wife Beth of Bossier City; Todd N. Tracy of New Orleans; and Tara Tracy Neeles and husband Tyler of Bossier City; and great-grandchildren Parker Tracy and Ella Tracy. The family would like to thank the many friends who provided prayers and comfort during her illness. They would also like to thank the many wonderful health care providers who often went above and beyond to care for Mom. A private visitation will be held at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City. We will all miss her very much. May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to Freda's favorite charity, The Paralyzed Veterans of America. You may make a donation by going to www.pva.org or call 800-555-9140.
