Conrad Cleo Isom died Friday, March 30, 2007, at his home in Haughton. He was born in Texas on June 14, 1923, to James N. Isom and Ava Alvora Isom.
He served with the 345th Infantry, Company D, United States Army during World War II and was captured as a prisoner of war during the Battle of the Bulge campaign.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Heard Isom; his parents; two brothers, James D. Isom and Bobby Isom; and sister, LaNell Sears.
He is survived by his brother, Troy Isom and wife, Shirley; his children, Bernie Isom and wife, Dana; Craig Isom; Lynn Cole and husband, George; his grandchildren, Wren Kimberly Ripoll and husband, Chris; Rhonda Douglass and husband, John; Christopher David Isom and wife, Tracie Brandee Stigall and husband, Chuck; Kristen Brandon and husband, Jerry; Josh Cole, Colby Isom, Chesney Stewart and Kyle Isom; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brooke Stigall; Kagan, Grayson, Zander and Jozey Isom; Ty and Will Ripoll; Hagan, Jerry Lee and Lawson Brandon; Jay, Jessica and Jordan Douglass.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Boone Chapel. Interment will follow at Haughton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Isom, Colby Isom, Kyle Isom, Josh Cole, Jay Douglass and Pat O'glee.
