Roger was born in Bloomington, Indiana on April 27, 1945 to Homer and Myrtle Griffin.

Preceeding him in death are his parents Homer and Myrtle Griffin; daughter, Stephanie and brothers Ben, David and Sonny Griffin. Surviving Roger in death is his loving Wife Judith Griffin; daughter, Dana and husband Dusty Emeley, Darla and husband Jeff Dronet and Jennifer and husband Jason Horton; sisters Vivian Powell and Joyce Pate and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as both of his dogs Pedro and Booboo.
