Dana Gilbert

Dana Jean Gilbert (Seifert), the beloved wife of John Anthony Gilbert, passed away too soon, unexpectedly from illness, on January 08, 2018. Dana was born November 30, 1968, in Fort Lee, Va, the daughter of SSGT Francis James Seifert Sr and Mrs. Anna Jean Seifert (Fuller). Living most of their lives in California, Dana and John moved to Bossier City, LA, in 2000. Dana enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and pets alike. She was a true believer that a bad day fishing was always a good day, whether fishing from shore with everyone or canoeing with her sister, Dawn. When not fishing, she enjoyed long drives, exploring the sights and people she would meet, with family and friends at her side, such as a trip to see family members and road trips with her sister and mother to catch a Cubs game. Weekends you could catch her watching a baseball or football game and enjoying a family BBQ. She also enjoyed being creative, doing crafts with family and friends. She enjoyed playing with kids, always wanting to make kids happy, which brought her great joy life. Dana also loved her dogs, which were like her children. A day would not go by without thoughts of dogs and puppies. Dana followed several web sites about rescued dogs and their stories entertained her heart each and every day, some with tears of sadness, some with tears of joy. Dana cared more for others than for herself and wanted always to bring joy to all, as she did to one and all who know her. We have lost a caring loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Dana is survived by her husband John Anthony; son, John Charles; mother, Anna Jean; sisters and a brother; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. How we all do and will truly miss her. Funeral services will be held graveside 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Haughton Cemetery, Haughton LA, on LA157 (exit 33) south through town just past the railroad tracks on the right. The Boone Funeral Home, in Bossier City, is managing the arrangements.
