Daisy Pearce

d. July 3, 2012

Shreveport, LA ? Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy M. Pearce will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home-Shreveport Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery East. Officiating will be Chaplain Van Dyke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to service time on Friday. Daisy was born April 28, 1923 in Beaumont, Texas to Virginia and Harry Powers, and is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. When WW II began, Daisy worked as a sheet metal worker, as many women did during that time. In her free time, she volunteered at the U.S.O in Louisville, KY. She loved helping people so much that she continued to volunteer with Volunteers of America and hospice for as long as she could. Not only will she be remembered for volunteering but also for her artistic talents. She was always making crafts for family and friends. Preceding Daisy in death was the love of her life and husband David Pearce. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Reid and husband Daniel; two sons, Stephen Pearce and wife Ann, and Herbert Pearce; grandchildren, Deb Brown and husband David, Eva Gonzales and husband Martin, Christopher Reid, David Reid and wife Lisa, Benjamin Reid, and Shauna Reid; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Joey Brown, Anthony and Juliana Gonzales, Crystal Reid, Preston Reid, Ethan and Aries Reid and Zach and Jennifer Woods; two brothers, Harry Powers and wife Marilyn, and David Powers and wife Doris; sisters, Carolyn Squires, Frances Higdon, Sarah Humphress and Dottie Roane; and brother-in-law, Milton Pearce and wife Betty. She is also survived by many other family members and close friends. The family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association in lieu of flowers. Everyone that had the privilege of knowing Daisy will greatly miss her generous and loving spirit.
