Shreveport – Bobby Capers passed away at the age of 69 on February 13, 2018 at Aime Hospice Care Facility due to having an acute stroke.
Bobby was born November 21, 1948 to the parents of Eva Capers, Jr. and Leola Rusley Capers. At an early age, Bobby joined Camp Zion Baptist Church in Haughton, LA. He graduated from Haughton High School and served a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, a Vietnam Veteran. In 1971 Bobby was united in holy matrimony to Bennie Jo Stills. To this union two children were born; son, Baron Darrell capers and daughter, Belandre Leola Capers. Bobby later became a Deacon where he served faithfully for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, loving mother, Leola Capers; son, Baron Darrell Capers and wife Jomia; granddaughter, Raven Alissa Capers; daughter, Belandra Leola Capers; relatives from the Capers family, Rusley family and Stills family.
A very special thanks to Carl Rusley, thanks for care at MICU, University Health Hospital, Overton Brooks VA Medical Center and Aime Hospice Care. In the past years, Bobby had made his request to be cremated with no funeral services, which will be honored by his children. His remains will be laid to rest at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA, 2:00 PM, Friday, February 16, 2018.
When I am gone, release me-let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you love, you can only guess,
How much you both gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love each have shown.
But now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part.
So my son and daughter bless those memories
Within in your hearts.
