Robert W. Smith

Shreveport - Robert Willard Smith, 69, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on February 7, 2014. Bob was born February 4, 1945 in Texarkana, AR to Willard B. and Alice Huff Smith. Bob was a man that lived his life in military fashion. He enjoyed working with wood, guns, but most of all he loved taking care of his wife and his family. Their care and comfort was most important to him. Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Jean Minnich. He leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Hilda Gandy Smith; daughter, Sandra Hackworth; sons James "Jimmy" Willis, Jr. and Ricky Willis; sister, Ginger Halus; nine grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Shreveport/Bossier Hospice Care in his memory. Memorial services for Bob will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 15, 2014, at St. James Episcopal Church.
