Dena Rene Dalbey (Woodard) went to rest peacefully in her home in Haughton, Louisiana on September 2, 2018 at the age of 53 years old.

Dena is survived by husband of 35 years, James E. Dalbey, children Megan Temple and husband Brandon of Haughton Louisiana, Jayme Dalbey of Haughton, Louisiana,  Kristen Wharton and husband Chris of Killeen, Texas, sister, Carol Varnado of Haughton, Louisiana; father-in-law Robert Dalbey of Haughton, Louisiana; 3 wonderful sister-in-law’s all from Bossier City, Louisiana: Peggy Humphries and husband Dave, Margaret Lujan, Faye Burling and husband Larry; 3 nephews Andrew, Brandon and Damien.  She had 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Kylie, Ryleigh, Aleigha, Bentley and Macy. She is preceded in death by father, Charles R. Woodard, mother, Linda Woodard and brother Charlie Woodard.

Dena was born on August 26, 1965 in Shreveport, LA. She married James Dalbey, the love of her life, best friend, and soul mate in the summer of 1983.

Dena was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed family gatherings, preparing meals for her family and friends, and cross stitching. She loves creating memories for her kids and her eyes would light up if she walked into your house and saw her creations on the wall. Knowing her time was limited she made sure to fill each day with as much joy as she could.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home on Airline Drive in Bossier City, LA. Visitation will start at 2:00 PM and service will commence at 3:00 PM. Dena’s best friend and soul sister, Liz McCrery, will be speaking at the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dena’s life.
