Helen Maxine Kelleher, 70, a descendant of the pioneer Crouch Family, Benton, LA, for whom Crouch Road is named, passed away on September 16, 2014 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home West, Shreveport, LA. Helen was born on Crouch Road, Benton, LA on April 12, 1944, and lived most of her life in Bossier Parish except the years she resided with her brother, Pat, in Granbury, TX, and the years she was a resident of Westwood Manor Nursing Home and its successor, Heritage Manor Nursing Home West. She never married and never had any children.
She is predeceased by her father, James Emmitt Kelleher, Sr., her mother, Leila Crouch Kelleher, her step-father, B.D. Rains, sister and brother-in-law, Leska Kelleher Hammett and Tommy Hammett, brothers, James Emmitt Kelleher, Jr. (killed in Korea), and Patrick Curry Kelleher and wife, Dorothy L. Kelleher, and niece-in-law, Greta Potter Kelleher.
She is survived by nephews, Michael James Kelleher, wife Diane, Dennis Wayne Kelleher and Steven Patrick Kelleher, all of Monroe, WA, Don Hammett of Shreveport, LA, niece, Joli L. Grisham, husband Jason, of Monroe, LA, and many great nieces and great nephews. As per Helen's wishes, she will be cremated and no memorial service is planned.
