Gloria Ruth Watt, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died peacefully surrounded by her family on November 28th at the Grace Home after a short illness. She was born January 17, 1925 in New York, New York. The family will receive friends between 10:00-11:30 Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Park on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1:00. Officiating will be Rev. David Dietzel. Gloria was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City. She loved her church and her Sunday school class. She was also a member of the video ministry for nearly twenty years. Her main job was to video the Sunday morning service each week. She loved to garden and grow tomatoes for her family and friends. She loved her dogs, Mindy and Patches as well as every other dog that came her way. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Fredrick Watt; son, Brian S. Watt; Father, Eugene Maegee; Mother, Ruth Maegee Smith; Stepfather, William Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hill and husband Kenneth; son, Glenn Watt; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Nugent and partner Ashley Barlow, Susan H. McKee, Dr. Robert K. Hill and wife Suzanne, Kimberly Watt, Madison Watt; and six great grandchildren. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Grace Home; also to the nurses on the third floor of Willis Knighton Bossier; to Dr. Jay Howell and Dr. Michael Moore and to special friends Tanya and Gerri Vernon and Brian DiIulio. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to choice of donor or First United Methodist Church Helping Hands Fund, the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
