Archie Pickard, Jr.

   Shreveport, LA - Archie Jr. Pickard, 74, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 after a brief illness. A private celebration of life will be held Saturday February 1, 2020. Please contact family at 318-773-9580 for details.

Archie was born on August 1st 1945 in Sarepta, Louisiana to Doris Lillian Gish and William Archie Pickard. Archie married Janice Gail DeYoung and was preceded in death by her in 2003 after 45 years of marriage.

Archie loved music, was talented at bass fishing, bass fishing, and could fix or build any and everything. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Pickard is survived by his sons; Archie Pickard of Westminster Colorado and Dustin Pickard of Shreveport, LA ; daughters Stacy Coale of Austin, Texas, Wendy Elmore, Angela Pickard, and Joni Thompson of Shreveport, LA; sisters Lucille Marshall of Iowa, LA and Barbara Woodall of Keithville, LA, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

   He is preceded in death by his sister Leatrice Vianne Lowery of Lake Charles, and his wife Janice Gail (DeYoung) Pickard of Shreveport.

The family wishes to thank the Burn ICU at Ochnser LSUHS, and all of his caregivers. The family also wishes to express deep heartfelt gratitude for the care from Dr. Kathy Richardson and Dr. Kelton Ericson.
