Ted Taylor was called home by his Lord on February 14, 2023 at his residence in Minden, LA. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Ben E. Taylor, and sister Benni Ruth Scott. He is survived by his mother Patsy Taylor, brother Rick Taylor, daughters Brittany Taylor and Brandi Cade, son-in-law Ben Cade, and grandchildren Isla & Leland Cade.
Ted was born on November 29, 1963 in Shreveport, LA. He spent his childhood in Haughton, LA, participating in Cub Scouts and spending most of his time outdoors doing all of the wholesome things boys do. He graduated from Haughton High School, where he was an active member of the band as a Saxophonist.
He was an avid war reenactor, alongside his nephews Larry (Patrick) Weems, Les Chamblee, and Danny Estep, and numerous friends. American Civil War reenactment was a main focus, but with WWII & Vietnam reenactment also bringing him happiness and brotherhood.
Ted was a caretaker for his 90 year old mother, even while facing his own health complications as a dialysis patient. Despite any discomfort he felt, he cared for her until his last moments. He was a loving father to his two daughters, filling their childhood with happy memories and experiences. Spending time with his girls was priceless to him. Though the decline in his health did not afford him the energy to do the same with his two grandchildren, his love for them was evident and unquestionable.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held at the Ida United Methodist Church in Ida, LA on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm, followed by a visitation at the Ida Means Community Center.
