Susanne Dee Wilder was born on February 24, 1940 in Burbank, California.  She is the daughter of Erich and Dorothy Stephan.  Susanne is the sister of Patricia Stephan and Terry Rogers (Miles).  Susanne and her sisters were raised in Burbank, California, and she attended Bellarmine-Jefferson High School in Burbank, California.

Susanne is remembered as being an exceptional mother. Raising four boys Susanne understood the assignment and developed an expert interest in all things “sports”. Susanne was a model for her children of how to care for everyone that came into her range of influence. The tremendous love for her husband and children was available to a wide circle of friends, and her son’s schoolmates and teammates. Susanne loved animals and in particular, Irish Setters. She had vast experience in the championship level of Irish Setters and made time for exhibiting and competing in AKC dog shows.

Susanne married Hugh Arrol Wilder in 1957 in Burbank, California.  Hugh was known to every one as “Cap” and the couple had four sons raising them in Southern California and St. Louis, Missouri. Cap is eternally grateful for having the complete definition of partner in Susanne. No detail of life and it’s celebrations: the high points nor the sorrowful losses of loved ones was lost on Susanne. She overlooked nothing and attended to everything.

Susanne is survived by her husband Hugh Arrol “Cap” Wilder, her sons and daughters-in-law: Hugh Erich Wilder (Michele Dekinder-Smith), Tracy Laura Wilder, Mark Alan Wilder, Glen David Wilder, John Arrol Wilder (Heather Renee Wilder) Tamara Elaine Wilder.

Grandchildren: Hugh David Wilder, Nicholas Craig Wilder, Gabrielle Morgan Wilder, Dakota Ryan Greene, Erich Alan Wilder, Samantha Rene Wilder, Trey Steven Wilder, Taylor Jordan Roberts (Tanner), Dylan Michael Kindt, Mason James Kindt, Travis Edward Vincej, Chelsea Rene Wilder, Stephan Rance Wilder. Great Grandchildren: Elliana Rae Timmons, Grayson Sloan Roberts, Nixon Eric Roberts.

Susanne is preceded in death by her parents, Erich and Dorothy Stephan, her sisters, Patricia Stephan and Terry Rogers, also her daughter-in-law Tamara Elaine Wilder.

The family is appreciative of the kind and expert care by the doctors and staff of Willis-Knighton North Medical Center, Shreveport, Louisiana.

The arrangements for Susanne are in the hands of the Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. A Celebration of Life for Susanne is planned by the family targeting 2023.
