Steven Warren Rambo, 71, of Bossier City, passed away on November 22, 2023, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle against cancer.
Steve was born December 24, 1951, to Arthur Rambo and Elsie Scott Benson in Shreveport, LA. After graduating Benton High School in 1969, Steve went on to join the United States Navy where he proudly served his country until 1974. In January of 1978 he joined the Bossier City Police Department where he dedicated the next 32 years until he retired in 2010 at the rank of Major. After retirement, Steve enjoyed working in the yard and spending afternoons with his grandchildren. He could also be found watching golf, NASCAR and LSU sports as well as going to dinner with his wife and their friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Rambo and Elsie Scott Benson, and sister, Sharon Rambo. Steve is survived by his wife, Louise Ford Rambo. He also survived by his children: Jessica Rambo, Joshua Rambo, Miche’al Edmiston (Bobby) and Erin Holdsworth; grandchildren, Braeden and Brooklyn Bell, Rebecca Rambo, Kade Keene, Jude Gibson, Ashley Edmiston (Jesse) and Jesse Edmiston (Alina); brother, Fred Rambo and sister, Donna Rambo as well as many nieces and nephews.
Service for Steve will be officiated by Jesse Edmiston on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 6pm at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Dr, Bossier City. The family will receive visitors beginning at 5pm prior to the service.
Steve will be greatly missed. His humor, his laughter and his love were contagious, along with his generosity. And as the song says… It’s 5 o’clock somewhere. We love you, Papa.
