Sr. Mary Anne Gaudin S.F.C.C. passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 22, 2021.
Services will be conducted by Father Pike Thomas at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Benton, LA on Monday, September 27, 2021. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM followed by visitation and funeral mass at 11:30 AM. Internment to be at a later date.
Sr. Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents O’Neil Bernard Gaudin and Melvina Bourgeois Gaudin, as well as her brothers O’Neil Gaudin, Edmund Gaudin, Bill Gaudin and Louis Gaudin and her sister Sr. Jeanette Gaudin S.F.C.C. She is survived by her sisters Joyce Gaudin Fox of Shreveport and Estelle Gaudin Nasser of the Woodlands, TX and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as her longtime sister companion in religious community, Sr. Nancy Brossette S.F.C.C.
Sr. Mary Anne was born in New Orleans and grew up in Shreveport where she attended St. Vincent’s Academy and entered the Daughters of the Cross religious community at age 16. Over a period of 30 years, she continued her education, taught elementary and high school, then served for 12 years as novice mistress, training new sisters for the community.
Following this, she transferred to Sisters for Christian Community and moved into the fields of catechetics, adult education, parish ministry and bible studies.
Especially dear to her heart these last few years of her active ministry was her bible study group at St. Jude’s parish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Jude Catholic Church.
Sr. Mary Anne will always be remembered for her gentle smile and gracious manner to everyone. May her loving memory be a lasting blessing to us all. She lived a life according to the motto “Thru Him, With Him, In Him.”
