Sherri Harper Coker passed away on April 26, 2013 at the age of 61. She was born in Oak Grove, LA on February 21, 1952. She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin "Hot" Harper, and her mother, Florence Conn Koberling. She is survived by four siblings: Bill Ellerbe, Teresa Seamans, Susan Conover, and Michael Koberling. She is also survived by her step-mother, Clara Harper.
Sherri was a devoted mother to her three children: Brittney Flood, Courtney Coker, and Clay Coker. Not much gave her greater joy in life than her two grandchildren, Madden Flood and Ally Coker. She talked about them constantly and showered them with her love and affection.
She spent the last 12 years working as a Communications Officer for Shreveport Police Department. On August 20, 2012, she was diagnosed with extensive small cell lung cancer. The past 8 months have been full of ups and downs, but she fought bravely and never gave up the fight. Her positive attitude, constant faith, and shining smile brought comfort and joy to everyone around her. She was truly an inspiration to all.
