Sarah Alicia Munn, age 40, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15th at Bellaire Baptist in Bossier City, where she was a member.
Sarah was born on Mother’s Day, May 13, 1984, in Shreveport to Debbie and Larry. Sarah and her older brother Chad loved animals, and the family home could be found with several types of pets at any time. Over the years, there have been dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds and even a lizard.
And horses: Sarah fell in love with horseback riding, taking after her Aunt Sherry. Sarah was a natural in the saddle and was gifted a horse for her 13th birthday, a thoroughbred named Little Terrors. She and Terrors, or T-Bird as she called him, were inseparable. She even won a state championship saddle with him in barrel racing.
Sarah attended high school at Captain Shreve originally. After the family moved, she graduated as a Parkway Panther in 2002. Sarah worked several types of jobs, trying to find one that fit well with her personality. She worked at several restaurants as a waitress and as a call center representative assisting people experiencing computer issues. She later attended business school and went on to work as a pharmacy technician. A devastating auto accident left her with a severe back injury and chronic pain that would prevent her working for long periods.
When her daughter Brooklynn came into her life, she went all-out as a mother. Sarah showered her with love and hair bows, clothes, books, toys and stuffed animals. Brooklynn and her mother were forever side-by-side in photos. Sarah was so proud to see Brooklynn train and get black belts in karate and jiu-jitsu.
Sarah was a very giving person and made friends very easily, in both school and life. She had a kind heart and was always ready to help a friend in need. She valued friendships deeply and would spend hours on the phone consoling friends. She loved flowers, especially lilies, and planted day lilies years ago that still bloom today.
Sarah is survived by daughter Brooklynn, brother Chad and wife Stephanie, father Larry Munn, and mother and stepdad Debbie and Lane Richardson. She also leaves behind her aunt Sherry May and husband Adrian, uncles Eddie Munn, David Richardson and wife Amanda, Stuart Richardson and wife Denise. Her surviving grandmothers are Lou Ella Gwin and Geneva Farrington, as well as nephews Zack McLeod, and Braeden and Connor Munn. She is preceded in death by grandmother Yvonne Richardson, grandfathers Howard Gwin on her mother’s side, Alton Munn on her father’s side, and Gary Richardson.
