Robert L. Moore Jr., 88, of Shreveport passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7th, 2024, in his home.
Robert was born in Milton, Indiana on March 31, of 1936, to Robert and Dolores (Meek) Moore Sr. Robert was raised in the small town of Milton and graduated from Milton High School in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an Airman Second Class in a Supply Squadron. Robert was first stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, when he met the love of his life, Patsy Webb.
Robert and Patsy were united in marriage in August of 1957 and they made their home in the Shreveport area after Robert returned from a brief deployment to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. After four years of service Robert earned his honorable discharge and enrolled in Baptist Christian University in Shreveport where he completed his Bachelors and earned his Masters in Divinity. Following his graduation, he served as pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Shreveport for several decades. In 1990 he accepted a position as pastor of Community Bible Church in Keithville, LA serving until his retirement in 2008. In retirement Robert and Patsy faithfully attended Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport where they served until her death in July and Robert's death in December.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory is his son Chris (Jennifer) Moore; grandchildren Caden and Caitlin Moore; brother Bill (Margaret) Moore; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Patsy; his parents; and sister Pam (Bill) Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024, at Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, LA. Friends may call at the church on Friday for visitation from 10 am until the time of the service at 11. Burial will follow at Northwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery in Keithville, LA.
