Robert Craig House

January 27, 1959 — February 14, 2025

Robert Craig House passed away on February 14, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Born on January 27, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, he lived a life filled with love and dedication to his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved spouse, Janice Boutwell House; his children, Haily Havis and Will House; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Havis, Layla Havis, Tyler Havis, and William House; bonus grandchildren, Hadleigh and Hunner Doolittle; his brother John House, and wife, Lori, of Farmerville, LA; brother William Wade House, and wife, Becky, of Bossier City, LA; sister Barbara Hendricks, and husband, Ron, of Santo, TX; sister in law Brenda Collie, and husband, David, of Ruston, LA; sister in law JoAnn Bahlinger, and husband, John, of Baton Rouge, LA; and brother in law George Boutwell, and wife, Ginger, of Winnsboro, LA; along with a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wade and Mildred House; father in law, Billy Ray Boutwell; and nephew, Trebor Yocum.

Also known as “Chief”, Craig was a true embodiment of joy, renowned for his infectious laughter that could light up a room and be heard from afar. It was not just a sound; it was a gift that he shared freely with family, friends, and even strangers. You could always find him on the back porch watching any type of LSU sport. He didn’t care what it was, he loved his LSU Tigers, and was known to parade his flag in the back of his truck or around a softball field with pride.

In September 1981, Craig married the love of his life, Janice. Their journey began when they were high school sweethearts, and together they created a beautiful life filled with many adventures and cherished memories. Their bond was an inspiring testament to love, resilience, and companionship, as they navigated life hand in hand, through all of its ups and downs.

His laughter will echo in our memories, his stories will be retold for years to come, and his love will forever remain a guiding light in our hearts. His absence will be profoundly felt, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. To know him, was to love him.

A visitation will be held on February 22, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Methodist Church, located at 1502 West Street in Winnsboro, Louisiana. A memorial service will immediately follow.
