Richard Lynn Williams was born October 31, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to proud parents Preston and Nellie Williams. Richard passed away peacefully April 25, 2021 with his loving family by his side.
While Richard was young, he loved to spend time on his family farm in Kaufman, TX. There he made many special memories with his father and grandfather. Richard graduated from Seagoville High School in Seagoville. After school he attended college in Arlington, TX. Shortly after he began a career at Continental Trailways. During this time, Richard met the love of his life, Beth. They were married in 1979. Richard and Beth settled in Haughton where they opened The Movie Shop. While owning The Movie Shop, Richard worked for the Haughton Post Office, where he remained until he retired. Any free moment, Richard and Beth spent traveling in their RV to the West, and especially the mountains. Gardening was another favorite pastime of Richard's. Sharing his produce with family and friends meant a lot to him.
Preceding Richard in death are his parents, and sister, Linda Lou Williams. Left to cherish many memories are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Williams of Haughton; daughters, Kristi Tomlinson and husband Clayton of Justin, TX and Kelli Keller and husband Bo of Crandall, TX; step-daughter, Deborah Pipes and husband Jim of Ruston, LA; step-son, Rich Ahlers, III of Waco, TX; sister, Janice Southard and husband Bill; grandchildren, Tyler Yarbrough, Clayton Austin Tomlinson and wife Cheyenne, Nicholoe Ward and husband Michael, Natasha Tomlinson, Emma Croley, Amber Walker and husband Josh, Trey Pipes, III and wife Lauren, and JR Ahlers, IV; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Blackjack Missionary Baptist Church in Kaufman, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Meals On Wheels, or Bossier Kids Back Pack Program.
Richard truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time and sharing life stories. His legacy will continue for generations to come.
