Services for Phillip Baker will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.
Phillip passed away in Bossier City peacefully, May 23, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Three days after Phillip turned 17, Phillip enlisted in the United States Navy. He retired as Chief Petty Officer after serving his country for 20 years. After his retirement from the Navy, he spent the next 28 years with the United States Postal Service, ending his career as a Postmaster. Along with being a dedicated, career-oriented family man, Phillip also devoted his life to God, where he enjoyed serving the Lord as a Deacon and Usher at Sanctuary Family Worship Center.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Judith Baker, and their two daughters, Sharon Myers and husband Richard of Moyock, NC, and Darlene Caple and husband Kenneth of Bossier City, LA; grandchildren, Carrie Kough, Michael Myers, Kelly and Russell Walker, and Kendall Caple; two great-grandsons, Allen Kough and Noah Walker; three brothers, William Baker and wife Ann, Jerry Baker, and James Baker and wife Kim; and many other family members and friends.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Regional Hospital and Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for their loving support.
Phillip loved his country and especially his family. He will be greatly missed.
