Patricia "Pat" Brown Dowling Bretches, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on May 10, 1947, in Jackson, TN, to Pearl and Tom Dowling. Patricia most recently resided in Shreveport, LA.
Patricia enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She found solace in bird watching and cherished spending her free time reading her Bible or any Nora Roberts or James Patterson books. Patricia had a special affection for animals, especially cats, and showered them with love. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, as family was the center of her universe.
Patricia had a sweet tooth and a deep love for strawberry and chocolate chip ice cream. She also reveled in the flavors of a good Mexican pizza from Taco Bell. Elvis, with his timeless music, held a special place in her heart.
Patricia's passion for spreading the love of Jesus led her to travel on numerous trips with her church. She treasured her experiences and held dear the memories she made along the way. Patricia adored the coast of Maine and found solace in its beauty.
When it came to entertainment, Patricia found joy in watching TV shows like Gilmore Girls and Grey's Anatomy. She was a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren, Kate, Austin, Caroline, and Ella. Patricia's children, Hope and her husband Brandon Hunt, and Kenneth and his wife Jessica Bretches, were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment she spent with them.
Patricia is survived by her sister, Ann and her husband Eric Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Tom Dowling. She had a special bond with her sister Ann Collins and her cousin Carol Brock, who shared many cherished memories together.
Patricia will be remembered for her fiery red hair, which matched her vibrant personality. She always put others before herself, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. Patricia's unwavering faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her life.
A memorial service to celebrate Patricia's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the rheumatoid foundation and the hospice center who cared for her in her final days in Patricia's memory.
